About Us
The Vex IQ program at Oak Mountain Middle School was started in 2014 by Sherri Whitehead and contained around 6 to 10 members on two different teams. Today, over 55 members participate in the program on 13 different teams.
Among the program's successes include berths to the Alabama Vex IQ State competition in all years operating, trips to the Vex IQ Worlds competition in Louisville, Kentucky in the 2015 and 2016 seasons, a division Worlds victory, and the domination of almost all regional tournaments.
So far this year, 3 teams have already qualified for the States competition in March. With many competitions still to come, it is apparent that our robotics teams are performing very well this season. We hope that because of this performance, our teams will be able to once again make the Worlds Competition in April 2018.
